Description
Who is it Suitable For?
- Adults and children aged 12 years and over.
- Designed for dry, irritating coughs that may be accompanied by nasal congestion, sinus pressure, or allergic symptoms.
- Not suitable for children under 12 years.
Ingredients / Active Ingredients
- Dextromethorphan hydrobromide – cough suppressant that calms the urge to cough.
- Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride – a decongestant that relieves blocked sinuses and nasal passages.
- Triprolidine hydrochloride – an antihistamine that reduces nasal irritation and allergy-related symptoms.
Other ingredients: sucrose, sorbitol, ethanol, sodium, and flavourings (see packaging for full excipient list).
How to Use / Dosage Instructions
Adults and children over 12 years:
- Take 10ml every 4–6 hours if needed.
- Do not take more than four doses (40ml) in 24 hours.
Administration:
- Oral syrup. Use a measuring spoon or cup for accurate dosing.
- Shake well before each use.
Duration of use:
- Short-term only. Do not use for more than 5–7 days unless advised by a doctor.
Possible Side Effects
- Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, mild nausea, restlessness, or difficulty sleeping.
- Uncommon: Headache, upset stomach, constipation.
- Rare: Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
Seek urgent medical attention if you experience severe allergic reaction, palpitations, or chest pain.
Warnings and Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine, triprolidine, or excipients.
- Not suitable for children under 12.
- Avoid if you have severe high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid, glaucoma, or if you are taking certain antidepressants (MAOIs).
- Speak to your doctor if you have diabetes, kidney or liver disease, asthma, or chronic cough due to smoking or emphysema.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
- Not recommended without medical advice.
Driving and machinery:
- May cause drowsiness or dizziness — do not drive or operate machinery if affected.
Interactions with Other Medicines
- Do not use with MAOIs or within 14 days of stopping them.
- May interact with antidepressants, antihypertensives, sedating antihistamines, or other cough/cold remedies.
- Avoid alcohol as it increases drowsiness.
When to Consult a Pharmacist or Doctor
- If your cough persists for more than 7 days, or is accompanied by a high fever, chest pain, or shortness of breath.
- If symptoms worsen or do not improve.
- If you experience palpitations, insomnia, or severe side effects.
Storage Information
- Store below 25°C, away from direct light and heat.
- Keep the bottle tightly closed.
- Keep out of sight and reach of children.
- Do not use after the expiry date.

Yes, but avoid taking with other cough, cold, or decongestant medicines unless advised by a pharmacist. - How quickly does it start working?
Relief is usually noticed within 30 minutes to 1 hour of taking the syrup. - Does it contain sugar?
Yes, it contains sucrose. Patients with diabetes should seek advice before use. - Can I take this at bedtime?
