Who is it Suitable For?

• Adults and children aged 12 years and over.
• Designed for dry, irritating coughs that may be accompanied by nasal congestion, sinus pressure, or allergic symptoms.
• Not suitable for children under 12 years.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

• Dextromethorphan hydrobromide – cough suppressant that calms the urge to cough.
• Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride – a decongestant that relieves blocked sinuses and nasal passages.
• Triprolidine hydrochloride – an antihistamine that reduces nasal irritation and allergy-related symptoms.

Other ingredients: sucrose, sorbitol, ethanol, sodium, and flavourings (see packaging for full excipient list).

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

Adults and children over 12 years:

• Take 10ml every 4–6 hours if needed.
• Do not take more than four doses (40ml) in 24 hours.

Administration:

• Oral syrup. Use a measuring spoon or cup for accurate dosing.
• Shake well before each use.

Duration of use:

• Short-term only. Do not use for more than 5–7 days unless advised by a doctor.

 

Possible Side Effects

• Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, mild nausea, restlessness, or difficulty sleeping.
• Uncommon: Headache, upset stomach, constipation.
• Rare: Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing.

Seek urgent medical attention if you experience severe allergic reaction, palpitations, or chest pain.

 

Warnings and Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine, triprolidine, or excipients.
• Not suitable for children under 12.
• Avoid if you have severe high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid, glaucoma, or if you are taking certain antidepressants (MAOIs).
• Speak to your doctor if you have diabetes, kidney or liver disease, asthma, or chronic cough due to smoking or emphysema.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

• Not recommended without medical advice.

Driving and machinery:

• May cause drowsiness or dizziness — do not drive or operate machinery if affected.

 

Interactions with Other Medicines

• Do not use with MAOIs or within 14 days of stopping them.
• May interact with antidepressants, antihypertensives, sedating antihistamines, or other cough/cold remedies.
• Avoid alcohol as it increases drowsiness.
