Who is it Suitable For?
Aspirin 300mg Dispersible Tablets are suitable for adults and children aged 16 years and over. They are commonly used to relieve pain, inflammation, and fever. Not suitable for children under 16 unless specifically advised by a doctor due to the risk of Reye’s syndrome.
Ingredients / Active Ingredients
Each tablet contains 300mg of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) as the active ingredient.
Other ingredients may include: maize starch and citric acid (to aid dispersion).
How to Use / Dosage Instructions
Dosage by Age Group:
- Adults and children aged 16 and over: Take 1 to 3 tablets every 4 to 6 hours, as needed.
- Do not exceed 4 doses (12 tablets) in 24 hours.
How Often to Take It:
Repeat the dose if necessary after 4 to 6 hours. Always leave at least 4 hours between doses.
How to Administer:
Dissolve the tablets fully in a glass of water before taking orally. Do not swallow tablets whole.
Duration of Use:
Use for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. Do not take for more than 3 consecutive days without medical advice.
Possible Side Effects
Like all medicines, aspirin can cause side effects.
Common side effects include:
- Upset stomach
- Heartburn
- Mild nausea
Rare side effects may include:
- Allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing
- Bleeding or bruising more easily than usual
- Ringing in the ears or hearing issues (signs of overdose)
If you notice any unusual effects, stop taking and seek medical advice promptly.
Warnings and Precautions
When Not to Use It:
- If you are allergic to aspirin or other NSAIDs
- If you have or have ever had a stomach ulcer, severe liver or kidney disease
- If you have haemophilia or another bleeding disorder
- If you are taking blood-thinning medications like warfarin
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
Not recommended during the last trimester of pregnancy. Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Driving or Machinery Warnings:
Aspirin is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or use machines.
Interactions with Other Medicines
Inform your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking:
- Anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin, heparin)
- Other NSAIDs (e.g. ibuprofen)
- SSRIs, methotrexate, corticosteroids, or diuretics
- Medicines for gout or high blood pressure
When to Speak to a Pharmacist or Doctor
Seek advice if:
- Your symptoms worsen or persist beyond 3 days
- You experience side effects or allergic reactions
- You are unsure if aspirin is suitable for you due to existing conditions or medications
Storage Information
Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the pack.

Yes, it may help reduce fever and relieve aches and pains. However, do not combine with other medicines containing aspirin.
