What are Colpermin IBS Relief Capsules?

Colpermin IBS Relief Capsules are an enteric-coated peppermint oil preparation used for the symptomatic relief of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The special coating allows the capsule to pass through the stomach intact and release peppermint oil in the bowel, where it helps relax intestinal muscle spasms and reduce digestive discomfort.

Colpermin is commonly used to relieve abdominal pain, cramps, bloating and excess wind associated with IBS and related functional bowel disorders.

 

Who is it suitable for?

  • Adults and adolescents aged 15 years and over
  • People diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or experiencing IBS-type symptoms

Not suitable for children under 15 years.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

Active ingredient (per capsule):

  • Peppermint oil 0.2ml

Other ingredients:
Gelatin, glycerol, sodium copper chlorophyllin, titanium dioxide, methacrylic acid copolymer, triethyl citrate, talc.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

Adults and children aged 15 years and over:

  • Take one capsule three times daily

 

How often to take it

  • Three times daily, preferably before meals

 

How to administer

  • Oral capsule
  • Swallow whole with water
  • Do not chew or crush the capsule

 

Duration of Use

  • Can be used for short-term symptom relief
  • If symptoms persist beyond 2 weeks, seek medical advice

 

Possible Side Effects

Most people tolerate Colpermin well. However, side effects may include:

Common or mild:

  • Heartburn
  • Nausea
  • Peppermint taste or smell

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not chew capsules as this may cause mouth or throat irritation

Do not take Colpermin if you:

  • Are allergic to peppermint oil or any ingredients
  • Have gallstones or gall bladder inflammation
  • Have severe liver disease

 

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

  • Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on the advice of a doctor or pharmacist

 

Driving or Machinery

  • No known effects on driving or using machinery

 

Interactions with Other Medicines

  • Antacids or indigestion remedies may cause the capsule to dissolve too early
  • Leave at least 1 hour between Colpermin and indigestion medicines
