Who is it Suitable For?

  • Adults and children aged 5 years and over.
  • For those needing prevention or relief from travel sickness, motion sickness, or nausea and vomiting from other causes.
  • Not suitable for children under 5 years.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

  • Promethazine teoclate 25mg – an antihistamine with anti-emetic and sedative effects.

Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, maize starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, and other excipients.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

Prevention of travel sickness:

  • Adults: 1 tablet taken one to two hours before travel.
  • Children 5–10 years: Half a tablet taken one to two hours before travel.

Treatment of travel sickness (if symptoms develop):

  • Adults: 1 tablet as soon as possible, repeat if necessary every 6–8 hours (maximum 4 tablets in 24 hours).
  • Children 5–10 years: Half a tablet every 6–8 hours (maximum 2 tablets in 24 hours).

How to take:

  • Swallow tablets whole with water.
  • Not recommended for use longer than 7 consecutive days without medical advice.

 

Possible Side Effects

Common:

  • Drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision, dizziness.

Rare:

  • Skin rash, confusion (especially in the elderly), difficulty urinating, low blood pressure.

Seek medical advice if you experience allergic reactions such as swelling, wheezing, or severe rash.

 

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not use if you are allergic to promethazine or any other ingredients in the tablets.
  • Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you have asthma, epilepsy, glaucoma, enlarged prostate, liver disease, or breathing problems.
  • Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Avoid unless prescribed by a doctor. May be used in late pregnancy for nausea, but only under supervision.
  • May cause significant drowsiness—do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.

 

Interactions with Other Medicines

  • May increase sedation if taken with alcohol, sleeping tablets, opioid painkillers, or other antihistamines.
  • Can interact with some antidepressants, epilepsy medicines, and certain antibiotics—seek advice before use.

 

When to Consult a Pharmacist or Doctor

  • If symptoms persist beyond 7 days.
  • If you have a high fever, severe headache, persistent vomiting, or confusion.
  • If giving to a child and they develop unusual sleepiness or breathing difficulty.
