Who is it Suitable For?

  • Adults and children aged 12 years and over.
  • Specifically intended for those who have already taken Migraleve Pink Tablets to relieve the initial stage of migraine with nausea and require further treatment for the headache phase.
  • Not suitable for children under 12 years due to the risk of serious side effects from codeine.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

  • Paracetamol 500 mg – relieves pain and reduces fever.
  • Codeine phosphate 8 mg – an opioid analgesic that works with paracetamol to ease moderate pain.

Other ingredients include maize starch, magnesium stearate, pregelatinised maize starch, talc, povidone, stearic acid, and colouring agents.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

Dosage by age group:

  • Adults and children 16 years and over: Two tablets every 4 hours as needed.
  • Children 12–15 years: One tablet every 4 hours as needed.

Maximum dose:

  • Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours for adults or 4 tablets in 24 hours for children 12–15 years.

How to administer:

  • For oral use. Swallow whole with water.
  • Migraleve Yellow Tablets should be taken only after Migraleve Pink Tablets have been used for the first stage of migraine.

Duration of use:

  • Use for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms.
  • Do not take for more than 3 days without medical advice due to the risk of dependence from codeine.

 

Possible Side Effects

Common:

  • Drowsiness
  • Constipation
  • Nausea or vomiting

Rare:

  • Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Low blood pressure
  • Liver problems (especially with excessive or prolonged use of paracetamol)

If severe side effects occur, stop taking and seek urgent medical advice.

 

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not use if allergic to paracetamol, codeine, or any ingredients in the product.
  • Avoid if you have breathing difficulties, head injury, raised intracranial pressure, or recently consumed alcohol.
  • Not for use in children under 12 years.
  • Do not use in those under 18 years after tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy for obstructive sleep apnoea.

Pregnancy/Breastfeeding:

  • Avoid during pregnancy unless prescribed by a doctor.
  • Do not take if breastfeeding—codeine passes into breast milk and may cause breathing problems in infants.

Driving and machinery:

  • May cause drowsiness; do not drive or operate machinery if affected.

 

Interactions with Other Medicines

  • Increased risk of drowsiness if taken with sedating medicines, alcohol, antihistamines, antidepressants, or other opioid painkillers.
  • Avoid combining with other paracetamol-containing products to prevent overdose.

  • If headaches become more frequent or worsen.
  • If symptoms persist beyond 3 days.
  • If you experience breathing difficulties, confusion, or severe allergic reaction.
