Anbesol Liquid provides rapid relief for mouth ulcers, denture irritation, and teething pain. Its triple action formula numbs pain, fights infection, and protects gums, making it suitable for adults, children, and infants over 5 months.

Description

 

Who is it Suitable For?

  • Infants aged 5 months and over (when teething).
  • Children and adults suffering from mouth ulcers, sore gums, or denture irritation.
  • Not suitable for infants under 5 months.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

  • Lidocaine Hydrochloride – a local anaesthetic that numbs pain.
  • Chlorocresol – an antiseptic to help prevent infection.
  • Cetylpyridinium Chloride – an antiseptic that protects against bacteria.

Other ingredients include ethanol and excipients to stabilise the formulation.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

For infants (over 5 months) and children:

  • Apply a small amount with a clean fingertip to the affected area up to 4 times daily.

For adults and the elderly:

  • Apply directly to the affected area with a clean fingertip or cotton bud up to 4 times daily.

How to administer:

  • For topical use in the mouth only. Do not swallow large amounts.
  • Always wash hands before and after use.

Duration of use:

  • Use for short-term relief. If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, consult a healthcare professional.

 

Possible Side Effects

  • Common: Mild irritation, tingling, or burning sensation at the application site.
  • Uncommon/Rare: Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing.

Stop use immediately if severe allergic reaction occurs and seek urgent medical help.

 

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not use if allergic to lidocaine, chlorocresol, cetylpyridinium, or any other ingredient.
  • Avoid swallowing large amounts.
  • Not for prolonged use without medical supervision.
  • Contains alcohol – avoid excessive use.
