Anusol Plus HC Suppositories provide soothing relief from internal haemorrhoids and related anal irritation. With hydrocortisone and zinc oxide, they reduce inflammation, swelling, and discomfort while promoting healing.

Who is it Suitable For?

  • Adults and adolescents over 18 years old.
  • Those suffering from internal piles (haemorrhoids), anal itching, swelling, or discomfort.
  • Not recommended for children without medical advice.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

Each suppository contains:

  • Hydrocortisone (10mg) – a mild corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, swelling, and irritation.
  • Zinc oxide (296mg) – a soothing agent with mild astringent and protective properties.
  • Bismuth salts (bismuth oxide and subgallate) – help protect irritated skin and reduce discomfort.
  • Balsam Peru (49mg) – promotes healing and provides mild antiseptic action.

Other excipients: hard fat and other inactive components.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

  • Adults (18+): Insert one suppository into the back passage (rectum) at night, in the morning, and after each bowel movement if required.
  • Do not use more than 3 suppositories per day.
  • Duration of use: Use for up to 7 days. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

How to administer:

  • Wash hands before and after use.
  • Remove the suppository from its foil wrapping.
  • Insert gently into the rectum with the pointed end first.

 

Possible Side Effects

  • Common: Mild burning, itching, or irritation at the application site.
  • Rare: Allergic reaction (rash, swelling, or worsening irritation).
  • Very rare: Thinning of the skin with prolonged or excessive use due to the steroid content.

Seek immediate medical advice if signs of an allergic reaction occur.

 

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not use if you are allergic to hydrocortisone, balsam peru, zinc oxide, bismuth compounds, or any excipients.
  • Avoid if you have a bacterial, fungal, or viral infection in the anal area.
  • Do not use in children unless prescribed.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Use only if advised by a healthcare professional.
Driving & machinery: No known effect.

  • Tell your doctor if you are using other corticosteroid medicines (oral, topical, or inhaled), as combined use may increase side effects.
