Who is Calpol SixPlus Sugar Free Suspension Suitable For?

Calpol SixPlus Sugar Free Suspension is suitable for children aged 6 years and over, including teenagers and adults who prefer a liquid format. It is especially useful for children who find it difficult to swallow tablets.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

• Paracetamol 250mg per 5ml – the active ingredient, used to relieve pain and reduce fever.
• Other ingredients include: Maltitol, sorbitol, glycerol, xylitol, carmellose sodium, strawberry flavouring, sucralose, sodium citrate, citric acid, macrogol, xanthan gum, and purified water.
• Free from sugar and colourants.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

Dosage by age group:

• 6–8 years: 5ml up to 4 times in 24 hours
• 8–10 years: 7.5ml up to 4 times in 24 hours
• 10–12 years: 10ml up to 4 times in 24 hours
• 12–16 years: 10–15ml up to 4 times in 24 hours
• Adults and children over 16: 10–20ml up to 4 times in 24 hours

How often to take it:

• Leave at least 4 hours between doses
• Do not exceed 4 doses in any 24-hour period
• If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, consult a doctor

How to administer:

• Shake the bottle well before use
• Use the included dosing syringe for accuracy
• Administer orally

Duration of use:

• Use as needed for up to 3 days
• For longer use, seek advice from a pharmacist or GP

 

Possible Side Effects

Most people experience no side effects. However, rare side effects may include:

• Skin rash or itching
• Swelling of the face, tongue, or throat
