Description

 

Ingredients in Chlorphenamine 2mg/5ml Oral Solution

  • Active Ingredient: Chlorphenamine maleate 2mg per 5ml
  • Other Ingredients: Sorbitol solution, glycerol, ethanol, propylene glycol, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, liquid maltitol, water, flavourings, colouring agents, preservatives (methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate)

 

Dosage & Directions for Use

This medicine should be taken using the provided measuring device.

  • Adults and children over 12 years: 10ml every 4 to 6 hours (maximum 60ml in 24 hours)
  • Children 6 to 12 years: 5ml every 4 to 6 hours (maximum 30ml in 24 hours)
  • Children 1 to 5 years: 2.5ml every 4 to 6 hours (maximum 15ml in 24 hours)
  • Not suitable for children under 1 year.
    Always shake the bottle well before use. Do not exceed the stated dose.

 

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Chlorphenamine may cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

  • Common: Drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, headache, nausea
  • Uncommon: Blurred vision, restlessness, confusion, stomach upset
  • Rare: Allergic reactions, difficulty urinating, rapid heartbeat

 

Warnings & Precautions

  • This medicine may cause drowsiness – avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
  • Do not take with alcohol as it may enhance sedative effects.
  • Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have liver, kidney, epilepsy, asthma, or glaucoma.
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children.
