Daktarin Gold 2% Cream is a powerful antifungal treatment used to relieve itching, irritation, and inflammation caused by fungal skin infections. It contains ketoconazole 2%, an active ingredient that treats infections by destroying the fungus at its source and preventing it from coming back.
This cream is suitable for adults and adolescents over the age of 12. It is commonly used for treating athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and fungal sweat rash. With regular use, Daktarin Gold helps restore healthy skin and reduce the risk of recurring infections.

Description
Ingredients in Daktarin Gold 2% Cream
- Active ingredient: Ketoconazole 2% w/w
- Other ingredients: Propylene glycol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60, isopropyl myristate, purified water
How to Use
- Apply once or twice daily to the affected area and surrounding skin
- Continue treatment for at least a few days after symptoms clear to prevent recurrence
- For athlete’s foot, continue for 7 days after symptoms disappear
- Wash hands before and after application
- Do not use on broken or inflamed skin unless directed by a doctor
Who Can Use It
- Suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over
- Not recommended for children under 12 unless advised by a healthcare professional
Possible Side Effects
Like all medicines, this cream can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them:
- Common: Mild burning, redness, or irritation at the site of application
- Uncommon: Itching or dryness
- Rare: Allergic reactions such as swelling, rash, or difficulty breathing (stop use and seek medical advice immediately)
Warnings and Precautions
- For external use only – avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes
- Do not use if you are allergic to ketoconazole or any other ingredients in the cream
- If the condition worsens or does not improve after 4 weeks, consult a doctor or pharmacist
- Avoid covering the treated area with occlusive dressings unless advised by a healthcare professional
Interactions
- There are no significant drug interactions reported with topical ketoconazole
- However, always inform your pharmacist if you are using other creams or ointments on the same area
