What is Gaviscon Advance Liquid?

Gaviscon Advance Liquid is an oral suspension used to relieve the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux, acid regurgitation and heartburn. It contains a high-strength sodium alginate formula which reacts with stomach acid to form a protective gel “raft”. This raft floats on top of the stomach contents, reducing acid reflux into the oesophagus.

As a result, it provides long-lasting relief, particularly after meals and at night.

• Adults and children over 12 years
• Individuals experiencing acid reflux, heartburn or regurgitation
• Patients diagnosed with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD)

Active Ingredients (per 5ml)

• Sodium alginate 500mg
• Potassium hydrogen carbonate 100mg

Other ingredients include calcium carbonate (varies by flavour), carbomer, methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoates, saccharin sodium, flavourings, purified water.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

Adults and children over 12 years:
Take 5–10ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times daily.

• Shake well before use.
• Measure using a suitable measuring device.
• Do not exceed the stated dose.
