Who is it Suitable For?

  • Adults, the elderly, and children aged 16 years and over.
  • Provides relief from multiple cold and flu symptoms, including fever, nasal congestion, sore throat, headache, and body aches.
  • Not suitable for children under 16.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

Active ingredients (per sachet):

  • Paracetamol 650mg – relieves pain and reduces fever.
  • Phenylephrine hydrochloride 10mg – nasal decongestant that reduces swelling in nasal passages.

Other ingredients include: Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), citric acid, sucrose, aspartame, sodium citrate, saccharin sodium, curcumin (E100), lactose, polysorbate 80 (E433), silica (E551), caster sugar, and lemon flavour.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

  • Adults, elderly, and children 16+: Dissolve one sachet in hot, but not boiling, water. Stir until dissolved and sweeten if desired.
  • Take every 4–6 hours as required, up to a maximum of 4 sachets in 24 hours.
  • Do not give to children under 16.
  • Do not exceed the recommended dose.
  • Use for short-term relief only; consult a pharmacist or doctor if symptoms persist for more than 5 days.

 

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, side effects are possible:

  • Common: Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, headache, raised blood pressure, palpitations.
  • Rare: Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling), difficulty passing urine (especially in men).
  • Very rare: Blood disorders, liver damage (especially with overdose or alcohol misuse), severe skin reactions.

Seek urgent medical help if you experience breathing difficulties, severe rash, swelling of face/lips/tongue, or jaundice.

 

Warnings and Precautions

Do not use if you:

  • Are allergic to any of the ingredients.
  • Have high blood pressure, serious heart disease, overactive thyroid, diabetes, phaeochromocytoma, or glaucoma.
  • Are taking or have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) in the last 14 days.
  • Are taking other decongestants or paracetamol-containing products.

Use with caution if you:

  • Have liver or kidney disease.
  • Have Raynaud’s syndrome.
  • Have an intolerance to sugars or are on a low sodium diet.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
Not recommended without medical advice, especially if you have a history of pre-eclampsia.

Driving/machinery:
Unlikely to impair ability; however, dizziness may occur in some people.

 

Interactions with Other Medicines

  • Avoid taking with other paracetamol-containing products.
  • May interact with warfarin and other blood thinners, increasing bleeding risk.
  • Interacts with some antidepressants (tricyclics, MAOIs), beta-blockers, digoxin, and medicines for migraine (ergot derivatives).
  • Risk of metabolic acidosis when combined with flucloxacillin.

  • If symptoms persist beyond 5 days.
  • If you develop severe side effects.
  • If you accidentally take more than the stated dose.
  • If you have other health conditions or take multiple medications.
