Each tablet contains Loperamide Hydrochloride 2mg, a well-established anti-diarrhoeal agent that works by slowing down intestinal movement, giving your body more time to absorb water and electrolytes.

Description

 

Loperamide 2mg Anti-Diarrhoea Tablets Dosage Instructions:

  • Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Take two tablets initially, followed by one tablet after each loose bowel movement, up to a maximum of 6 tablets in 24 hours.
  • Not suitable for children under 12 years without medical advice.

 

Directions for Use:
Swallow tablets whole with a drink of water. Do not exceed the recommended dose. If symptoms persist beyond 48 hours, consult a pharmacist or GP.

 

Possible Side Effects:
Like all medicines, Loperamide can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. These may include:

  • Constipation
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Abdominal cramps
  • In rare cases, allergic reactions such as skin rash or swelling may occur

If you experience severe constipation, bloating, or signs of an allergic reaction, stop using the product and seek immediate medical help.

 

Warnings and Precautions:
Do not take Loperamide 2mg Anti-Diarrhoea Tablets if you:

  • Are allergic to loperamide or any of the ingredients
  • Have a high temperature or blood in your stools
  • Suffer from severe diarrhoea after taking antibiotics (antibiotic-associated colitis)
  • Have inflammatory bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease in an acute flare

Always consult your doctor before using this medicine if you have liver problems, or if the diarrhoea is persistent or severe.

 

Drug Interactions:
Loperamide may interact with certain medications including:

  • Ritonavir (used for HIV)
  • Quinidine (used for heart rhythm problems)
  • Itraconazole or ketoconazole (used for fungal infections)
  • Desmopressin (used for diabetes insipidus)

If you are taking other medications or supplements, consult your pharmacist before use.

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack.
