What is NeilMed Neti Pot?

NeilMed Neti Pot with 60 Packets (NasaFlo®) is a natural, soothing saline nasal wash designed to clear nasal passages, ease congestion, and improve breathing comfort. Used for centuries in nasal hygiene practices, this Neti Pot delivers a pH-balanced, isotonic saline solution that helps remove mucus, allergens, dust, and irritants.

 

Who is it suitable for?

  • Adults and older children, unless otherwise advised by a healthcare professional.
  • Suitable for use during pregnancy.
  • Can be used after sinus surgery under medical guidance.

 

Active Ingredients (per packet)

  • Sodium Chloride (USP grade, purity ≥99%)
  • Sodium Bicarbonate (USP grade, purity ≥99%)

Free from: preservatives, iodine, BPA, gluten, and latex.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

  1. Wash hands thoroughly.
  2. Fill the Neti Pot with 240 ml (8 fl oz) of lukewarm distilled, micro-filtered, commercially bottled, or previously boiled and cooled water.
  3. Add one NeilMed saline packet and shake gently to dissolve.
  4. Lean forward over a sink, tilt your head, and allow the solution to flow through one nostril and out the other.
  5. Use half the pot (120 ml) per nostril.
  6. Blow nose gently afterwards.
  7. Repeat on the opposite side.

 

Frequency: Rinse once or twice daily, or as directed by your healthcare professional.

 

Duration of Use

Can be used daily as part of a routine for nasal hygiene or during allergy, cold, or sinus flare-ups.

 

Possible Side Effects

Most users tolerate NeilMed Neti Pot well. Occasionally, you may experience:

  • Mild nasal burning or stinging (often from incorrect solution mix).
  • Ear fullness or discomfort if the solution enters the ears.
  • Rare allergic reactions to components.

Stop use and seek advice if you experience persistent pain, severe burning, or unusual symptoms.

 

Warnings and Precautions

  • Use only NeilMed saline packets – plain water can cause nasal burning.
  • Always use distilled, micro-filtered, bottled, or previously boiled and cooled water.
  • Do not use tap water unless properly boiled and cooled.
  • Do not use if nasal passages are completely blocked, or if you have an ear infection or blocked ears.
  • Consult a doctor before use if you have had recent ear or sinus surgery.
  • Replace the Neti Pot every 3 months for hygiene.

 

Contraindications

  • Do not use in patients unable to stand or bend safely over a sink.
  • Avoid use in young children unless recommended by a doctor.
  • Not suitable for individuals with known hypersensitivity to ingredients.
