Who is Nicorette Gum Suitable For?

Nicorette Gum is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over who are trying to quit smoking or cut down gradually. It can be used to either fully replace cigarettes or reduce smoking frequency, especially if you’re not ready to quit completely.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

Active ingredient:

  • Nicotine (as nicotine resinate) – 2mg or 4mg per piece

Other ingredients include:
Chewing gum base, xylitol, peppermint oil, sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, levomenthol, light magnesium oxide, talc, hypromellose, sucralose, polysorbate 80, titanium dioxide (E171), acacia, carnauba wax, butylated hydroxytoluene (E321), and flavourings such as tutti frutti.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

Dosage by age group:

  • For adults and children aged 12+.

How often to take it:

  • Chew one piece of gum whenever you feel the urge to smoke.
  • Do not exceed 15 pieces per day.

How to administer:

  • Chew slowly until the taste becomes strong.
  • Then rest the gum between your cheek and gums.
  • When the taste fades, chew again.
  • Continue this chew-rest cycle for about 30 minutes.

Duration of use:

  • Use for up to 12 weeks. Gradually reduce use over time. Seek support if needed.

Common side effects include:

  • Hiccups, upset stomach, sore throat, jaw discomfort, or nausea
  • Tingling sensation in the mouth

Less common or rare side effects:

  • Allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or shortness of breath
