Who is Otrivine Allergy Relief Nasal Spray Suitable For?

Otrivine Allergy Relief Nasal Spray is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over. It is ideal for those suffering from nasal symptoms due to hay fever, pet dander, dust mites, or other airborne allergens.

 

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

The active ingredient in Otrivine Allergy Relief is Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.1% w/v, a fast-acting nasal decongestant. Other ingredients include disodium edetate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, and purified water.

 

How to Use / Dosage Instructions

Dosage by Age Group:

  • Adults and children over 12 years: One spray into each nostril up to 2–3 times daily.
  • Children under 12 years: Not recommended.

How Often to Take It:
Use every 8 to 10 hours if needed. Do not exceed three applications per day.

How to Administer:
Shake the bottle gently before use. Tilt the head slightly forward, insert the nozzle into the nostril and spray once while breathing in gently through the nose.

Duration of Use:
Do not use continuously for more than 7 days. Prolonged use may lead to rebound congestion.

  • If you have heart disease or high blood pressure

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Driving or Machinery Warnings:
This product is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or use machines when used as directed.

 

Interactions with Other Medicines

Known Interactions:
Avoid using Otrivine if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or other medications for depression or blood pressure. Always speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you’re on other treatments.
