Who is it suitable for?
Prochlorperazine (generic Buccastem M) 3mg Buccal Tablets are suitable for adults and young people aged 18 years and over who experience nausea, vomiting, or vertigo in relation to migraines only.
Ingredients / Active Ingredients:
Each buccal tablet contains 3mg of Prochlorperazine maleate, the active ingredient. This medicine belongs to a group of drugs known as phenothiazines, which work by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain to reduce symptoms of nausea and dizziness.
How to Use / Dosage Instructions:
- Dosage by age group:
- Adults and children aged 18 and over: One 3mg tablet twice a day.
- Children under 18: Not recommended unless directed by a doctor.
- How often to take it:
One tablet in the morning and one in the evening. Do not exceed two tablets in 24 hours. - How to administer:
These are buccal tablets – do not swallow them whole. Place the tablet between your gum and cheek and allow it to dissolve slowly. Avoid chewing or sucking the tablet. - Duration of use:
Use only for as long as necessary to control symptoms. If your condition does not improve after a few days, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Like all medicines, Prochlorperazine may cause side effects, though not everyone will experience them.

- Dry mouth
- Drowsiness or dizziness

This medicine may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery unless you know how it affects you.
